This Cancer Full Moon is part of the ongoing Pluto/Uranus square, making it imperative that we think about what nurtures us and our communities. The Capricorn Sun shines its light on our dharma, our life’s purpose. We do have a responsibility to our world and our communities. Just what that responsibility is depends on our gifts and talents. Venus retrograde is gestating, hidden in the light of the Capricorn Sun. She will appear as a Morning Star for the first time on January 17th. Venus is about to be re-born, so it’s time for us to see what feminine values we want to manifest in the world. The Cancer/Capricorn axis is all about our images of the divine Feminine and Masculine as Mother/Nurturer and Father/Sustainer. With Venus as part of the mix, we must rebalance the feminine/masculine polarity in our culture. It’s time for women and men to embrace the feminine spirit of life as our grounding and use our masculine spirit to focus and define who we are and what we believe in. And then do something about it. Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, is in a harmonious relationship to both the Sun and Moon, helping us release old patterns of behavior that no longer serve us or our relationships. Let go of those old rules which guilt-trip you! Are you really a bad person if you take time to nurture yourself and your abilities? As a Cancer Moon person and mother of four, I can tell you the well will run dry if you don’t. You can’t nurture others if you are depleted yourself. So release the fears and limiting beliefs about what is possible. Find your happiness quotient and pass it on to others. Mars is part of the ongoing grand cross and forms the closest aspect of it to this Full Moon. Mars in Libra desires peace, harmony and justice. It teaches us that we can have what we desire if we just include other people in our calculations. Aristotle thought that happiness was the ultimate value of our lives, measuring how well we have lived up to our full potential as human beings. Venus and Mars square each other at this Full Moon, shifting our awareness so we look for ways to cooperate instead of compete. With this Venus-Mars square, we have to bring this new attitude into our collective dealings. It's time and past time! Mars and Venus also challenge each other to bring better relationship values into the mix now. With Venus about to be 're-born’ as a Morning Star, she wants to carry the message to the collective “Women are EQUAL to men, just as feminine consciousness (feelings, intuitions, instincts) are equal to masculine rational consciousness.” Until next time, Sweet Dreams!
